Reps To CBN: Disclose Particulars Of Foreign Reserve Account

The House of Representatives, yesterday, urged the Central Bank of Nigeria (CBN) to declare without delay the particulars of the accounts in which the foreign reserve of the federation are being held and any interest accruable to the savings in the last four years and, thereafter, do same periodically.

 The House also urged the CBN to report the criteria for engaging any and all foreign managers of the foreign reserve accounts of the federation to ensure transparency and to report annually the performance and continued compliance of the managers with any best guidelines issued by it for the engagement of the managers.

The resolutions followed the unanimous adoption of a motion tagged: “Calling the Central Bank of Nigeria to Declare Interests Accruable to the Foreign Reserve Accounts of the Federation,” sponsored by Abdulsamad Dasuki (APC, Sokoto) at plenary presided over by the Speaker, Yakubu Dogara.
